The School Beverage Guidelines

Collaborate – The adopted national guidelines were created in 2006 with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation- a joint initiative of the American Heart Association and William J. Clinton Foundation. MN bottlers took direction from the MN School Districts in coordinating the national beverage guidelines and the school district’s wellness policies to create a healthy school environment.
Activate – The bottlers made dramatic changes in vending in schools-changing the products offered, reducing size of containers, revising vending machine locations and front designs and amending times that the machines are on.

3. We’re made wholesale changes to the beverage choices in schools.
Minnesota is in full compliance with the guidelines!
